If you are a fan of Marvel, 2021 is your year. Marvel is releasing content weekly throughout 2021, making this year action-packed. In order to watch a number of these films and shows, viewers must have a Disney+ subscription. On Jan. 15, Marvel released the first episode of ‘Wandavision’ to Disney+.  ‘Wandavision’ is about one of the Avengers, Wanda Maximoff, and the alternate reality she creates called Westview. Viewers are shown the life of Wanda and her husband, Vision, while unveiling dark secrets weekly. The last episode of ‘Wandavision’ is airing this Friday, March 5. 

Two weeks after the finale of ‘Wandavision’,The Falcon and the Winter Soldier’ will release its first episode. ‘The Falcon and the Winter Soldier’ is about Avengers Sam Wilson and Bucky Barnes after the death of their close friend Steve Rodgers (aka Captain America). From previews and trailers, fans can already notice that this is an action packed series dealing with the decision of who gets Captain America’s shield. This series will consist of six episodes releasing weekly.

After the finale ofThe Falcon and the Winter Soldier’,Black Widow’ will release on May 7, 2021. This movie has been long overdue for marvel fans since she is the one of the few original Avengers who does not have her own movie. According to Polygon.com, “Black Widow takes place between the events of Captain America: Civil War and Avengers: Infinity War.” This movie will follow Avenger Natasha Romanoff and her experiences with people of her past. 

On June 11, following the release ofBlack Widow’, another series, ‘Loki’, will release on Dinsey+. ‘Loki’ follows one of the best known villains in the Marvel universe after escaping an alternate reality. Tom Hiddleston will be back to play Loki as always. One of Loki’s obsessions, the Tesseract, helped him create a new reality from his corpse that viewers see inInfinity War’. Even though he is a villain, Loki is one of the most well-known and loved characters in the Marvel Universe. Is he truly a villain or is he just perceived that way? You will have to figure it out in this new series!

On July 9,Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings’ will be released to the world. Unlike previously, this film will not release solely on Dinsey+, but in theatres too. According to Polygon.com,”Shang-Li and the Legend of the Ten Rings’ follows Marvel hero Shang-Chi and his fight against the ten rings terrorist network. The main protagonist, Shang-Chi, will be played by Simu Liu. The bad guys, the Ten Ring terrorists, were first teased and shown in ‘Iron Man I’ and will be featured in this movie. 

On Nov. 5, the movie ‘The Eternals’ will be released to the public.  According to Marvel’s own site, the Eternals are “Ancient aliens who have been living on Earth in secret for thousands of years. Following the events of  Avengers: Endgame, an unexpected tragedy forces them out of the shadows to reunite against mankind’s most ancient enemy, The Deviants.” The cast of this movie are a-list actors such as Angelina Jolie, Salma Hayek, Richard Madden, Kumail Nanjiani, and more.

On Dec. 17, the new Spiderman movie, ‘Spiderman: No Way Home’, will be released to theatres. This movie is the third movie of Spiderman with Tom Holland as the lead. Other actors such as Zendaya and Jacob Batalon will be returning again. Marvel has not revealed the storyline yet but fans are already theorizing on possibilities. There are even rumors that other Spiderman will return such as Toby Maguire and Andrew Garfield. 

Of course with any cinematic production, dates are tentative. Shows and movies such as ‘Hawkeye’,‘Ms. Marvel’, andWhat If…?’ are also due for a 2021 release. Even though not set in stone, viewers and fans are getting a copious amount of Marvel content this year.
