On March 10th, the long-anticipated Covid relief bill was passed which gave relief to Americans during the pandemic. The 1.9 trillion dollar bill has allocated government funds for relief for those who are struggling in the pandemic.

These funds will be used in programs such as COBRA Relief (for when people are laid off from work), and the Affordable Care Act, (which helps expand nutrition assistance to replace school lunches, and to fund contact tracing and testing according to usatoday.com).

From the same usa.com article, the bill also includes another round of stimulus checks worth $1,400 for each person as well as an increase to $400 dollars a week for people living off of unemployment stimulus. These will hopefully help people pay their rent, buy food to eat, and pay utilities.

Not only does the bill try to help individual people with financial relief, but also those who own businesses that have been hit hard by the pandemic. The bill allocates around a $10,000 loan for all businesses that qualify. This will hopefully keep many small businesses running despite the decreased income.

According to NPR, a total of 10% of the population has been fully vaccinated for COVID-19. This relief bill has given a vast amount of funds for millions of Americans that are in need during this pandemic. These are trying times where many people in this country alone need this bill in order to survive.

Because of this bill, numerous American families will be supported, whether from a new round of stimulus checks or an increase to unemployment benefits. These actions will allow for families that qualify to survive and last until this pandemic is over.
