2021 Virginia Election Results

On Tuesday Nov. 2, Republican Glenn Youngkin defeated former Democratic Governor Terry McAuliffe in the race for Virginia Governor. Republican and Marine veteran Winsome Sears has become the first black female Lieutenant Governor of Virginia. She is also the first female to hold a state-wide office in Virginia. Both Youngkin and Sears heavily focused on improving education in their campaigns. Jason Miyares defeated incumbent Attorney General Mark Herring to become the Commonwealth’s next top cop. Incumbent House District 24 Delegate Ronnie Campbell retained his seat in Richmond. M. Catie Brown won a seat on the Rockbridge County School Board. Former Lexington Schools Superintendent Dan Lyons and Jay Lewis successfully defended their seats on the Rockbridge County Board of Supervisors
