Are you bored during quarantine? Are you sick of being peer pressured into watching Tiger King? Do you need a good cry? If you said yes to any of those questions, you should watch the movie “Dear, John.” Dear John is a romantic film following the love story of Sargent John Tyree and Savannah Curtis. The movie takes place around the time of the 9/11 attacks. Tyree and Curtis strike up a romantic relationship while they are both on Spring Break. Soon the time comes when John must leave to go back and fight the war, and the story follows their relationship as they write to each other while he is away. This movie does a great job depicting the lives of military couples, and the hardships of the men and women that are currently on duty serving their country. “Dear, John” is a great film to watch to understand the distance and mental toughness military families must endure. The film also brings up other issues in relationships, including those of parents, and the harsh reality of divorce. Mental and physical illness play a strong part in the movie, as Tyree’s father has mental illness, and one of Tyree’s close friends suffers from stage four lymphoma cancer.

This story provides heart-wrenching suspense that will keep you on the edge of your seat. The twists and turns make it unique and provide a harsh reality that will keep you emotional throughout the movie.
