The Wildcat football team suffered a loss to the Spotswood Trailblazers by a score of 28-42.

The ‘Cats offense was led by quarterback Ben Rhodenhizer, who completed 20-of-32 passes for 334 yards. In addition to his two touchdown passes, Rhodenizer ran for a touchdown of his own.

Just over a minute into the game, the ‘Cats scored their first touchdown, with Rhodenhizer connecting with receiver Jalik Lynch on a 7-yard pass. Kicker Ellison Morel, who went 4-for-5 on the night, converted the extra point, giving the ’Cats a 7-0 lead.

Only 20 seconds later, Spotswood responded with a 34-yard touchdown, but the extra point was blocked by Malik Dunn, keeping the ‘Cats lead at 7-6. The ‘Blazers scored twice more in the first quarter, ending the quarter with a lead of 21-7.

The ‘Cats scored twice in the second quarter. The first with a 5-yard pass from Rhodenizer and the second with a 1-yard touchdown run by Triniti Stores, which was set up by a 31-yard pass from Rhodenhizer to Kyle Irvine.

Two minutes into the third quarter, Spotswood scored two more touchdowns, extending their lead to 35-21.

The ‘Cats responded, with Rhodenizer completing a 36-yard touchdown pass to Johnny Dunn.

In the fourth quarter, Spotswood scored an 8-yard touchdown run, giving the ‘Cats (5-4 overall, 4-0 district) their fourth loss with a score of 42-28.
