Heartbreak on the Hill

Braden Hamilton, Reporter

On Monday March 28th, Varsity and JV baseball took on a tough opponent, Fort Defiance. The Varsity team was home and lost a heartbreaker of a game 0-1. For the JV team, they fought for it all of Fort’s field and lost 4-19.

“I think in total we played pretty well.” said senior Will Murdock. When asked about the game’s overall outcome, Murdock said, “Our pitching was great, Keswick threw very well on the mound, I think if we could’ve got the bats rolling in some key moments, we definitely would’ve had the game”

As for what the team was focused on, Murdock said, “We had a few errors that cost us a crucial run in the first inning but we cleaned up the fielding by the end.”

The boys will keep their heads high and keep fighting till the season’s done. Keep an eye on the Rockbridge athletics page to see game dates, times and any changes that may happen.
