On Monday, March 21, the Rockbridge County boys baseball teams traveled to Waynesboro. The Junior Varsity team played first, losing 3-9. Coach Travis Roadcap remarked on the loss.

“You know Waynesboro is very good team.” said Roadcap. “At the end of JV they just pulled away and the difference was that they scored and we did not.”

Looking to avenge the JV team, varsity put their best efforts forward and ultimately won, beating Waynesboro 7-5. Senior Tuner Cook was not pleased with the JV game.

“The JV game was so rough and we wanted to show we would not give up,” said Cook.

Senior Thomas McAloon had thoughts on the game as well.

“It was a very fun game because we as a team came back in the fifth” said McAloon. “It was rewarding to lock down and make a comeback with the team.”

Roadcap again had comments for the team.

“Waynesboro is a much improved team with 2 college commits on the mound.” said Roadcap. “Varsity just did what we needed to do and I will say, we just got a great group of kids because they are extremely coachable and fun.”

The next game for the team will be on Monday, April 4th against James River.
