Wildcat Cheer Team Competes at Waynesboro High

This past Saturday the Wildcat  competition cheer team traveled to the nearby Waynesboro High School to compete against many other cheer squads from Virginia.

After months of practicing their routine, the ‘Cats finally had a chance to show off their skills. They performed their roughly 3 minute routine made up of dancing, tumbling, jumping and stunting. They did this in front of a panel of judges but unfortunately fell short of victory.

Most important of all, the Wildcats competed with spirit and pride into their competition.

“I think it went a lot better than a lot of us were expecting…overall I’m really really proud of us, we did our best and had a good time, and you can’t ask for more than that.” said Junior Marcella Wallin.

The next competition for the cheer team is Sept. 21 at East Rockingham Highschool.
