The Cross County team traveled to Panorama Farms in Albemarle County for a meet on Oct. 8. The meet was a sunny five mile run on hilly terrain. Overall, the Varsity Girls ended up placing 8 out of 32 teams and the Varsity Boys placed 30 out of 36 teams.

The Wildcats accomplished a few new personal records. Senior Ezekiel Mohr ran the 5k in 19 minutes and seven seconds and sophomore Brooke Eichelberger finished the meet with a time of 22 minutes and 48 seconds. At the end, junior Nicole Black placed 38, senior Megan Timmes placed 56, junior Deena Ludtke placed 27, senior Andrew Brannon placed 110, and senior Brian Kendall placed 167.

“The highlight was finishing the run and seeing that my time was a PR,” said Mohr.

Senior Grace Rolon runs for the girls Cross Country team.

“Our team goal was to not get passed in the last part, and I ended up passing two girls up the hill at the end of the race,” said Rolon.

The next meet will be at Spotswood on Oct. 12 and will also be the District Preview. To learn more, visit Rockbridge’s Athletic page or contact the Athletic Director, Adam Haynes.
