On October 25, the Wildcat Varsity volleyball team defeated the Broadway Gobblers at RCHS. The first and second set’s scores were 25-17 and 25-6 which helped the Wildcats take the lead in the match. The final set ended with a score of 25-13, contributing to a 3-0 win for the match.

This win helped the Varsity volleyball team advance to the upcoming regional tournament.

Not only did the volleyball team earn a victory in the game, but they also honored two seniors on the team, Jaden McCoy and Lexi Polly.

On Tuesday, the team and fans celebrated the seniors, and Sophomore Rebekah Allen, one of the team’s defensive specialists, explained the night’s celebrations.

“We made big posters with their names on it, a banner that said ‘Senior Night’, got them baskets with a bunch of goodies, made a poster board full of pictures, gave them flowers, decorated the gym with balloons and streamers, and made them food,” said Allen.

To add to the special night, Senior setter Jaden Mccoy scored the last point of the game for the Wildcats. Assistant Athletic Director Travis Rogers explains that the two seniors made a positive mark on the team.

“These two seniors helped establish a culture of winning that will be the building blocks for many successful years to come,” said Rogers.

This Thursday, the Wildcats will play another game against Spotswood. This will be the district championship, so be sure to come out and support the RCHS Varsity volleyball team.
