On Jan. 17, 2023 both boys Varsity and Junior Varsity played Turner Ashby for the first time this season. The game was held on the ‘Cats home court at Rockbridge County High School.

JV lost to TA by a margin of 25 points with a final score of 53-28. Sophomore Quincy Speers plays guard on JV and had some words on how the team can improve and hopefully ensure a win next time.

“Our team mainly needs to improve on communicating and hustling on both offense and defense,” said Speers.

Varsity outperformed and beat Turner Ashby with a final score of 40-33. Junior Milo Mulitalo plays center on varsity.

“The win felt good coming off a loss but I think we could have played a lot better than we actually did,” said Mulitao, “The most important thing we had last night was our endurance through the game.”

The boys play again on Jan. 20 at Broadway High School.
