The boys lacrosse team continued through their early season schedule, as they hosted the Hilltoppers of EC Glass March 21. The Wildcats were coming off of a home loss to Western Albemarle and were looking for the first win of the season.
The game began with EC Glass taking a quick lead in the first half. The Wildcats defense tightened up after EC Glass’s hot start and the game slowed down. This stretch also included junior Goalie Jack Jenson’s 300th career save.
However, the Wildcats eventually struggled to slow down Glass’s advanced offense attack, while also struggling to put points on the scoreboard. The game finished with a score of 13-0 in favor of the Hilltoppers.
Junior attacker John Brooke’s main takeaway was the Wildcats defensive efforts.
“EC Glass was a good team but defensively we really found our groove that game. Even though we lost, we will use what we learned to improve ourselves in practice,” said Brooke.
The loss dropped the Wildcats to 0-3 on the season. They will look to get their first win as they host Franklin County on March 28.
