Girls Softball Defeats Staunton

The varsity softball team played Staunton at RCHS on March 18. They defeated Staunton High School 10-0. 

Said senior player Margaret Dudley, “Our game against Staunton went really well. I pitched a total of 5 innings and I struck out 10 out of 15 batters, making the game a 10-0 no hitter.”

The team’s current record is 1-2 after playing another game on March 21.

Said Dudley, “Even though we lost, there were a lot of important learning moments.”

They will also have games on March 22 at Stuarts Draft and on March 25 at home against Staunton. 

 

In the same night, the JV softball team played an away game against Staunton High School. They defeated Staunton 16-0 in 5 innings.

Said player Kaytlyn Pelter, “Sadie Moore pitched a no hitter and we had a great team win. We all support each other and it’s great being part of the team.”

The team’s next game is March 22 at home. Currently the team is undefeated with a 3-0 record.
