“My favorite thing about Rockbridge Ballet is definitely the people. I’ve grown up with most of the girls that I dance with so we’ve become very close over the years. Whenever I go to dance it feels like I’m going to my second home where I can be with my favorite people but also do something I love and I’m very passionate about. My favorite thing about Grease is getting to have self-expression and explore different perspectives through my character. I love revealing to people a part of myself through my character while also telling an entertaining story for the audience to enjoy. I manage my time with both theater and dance by making sure that I’m organizing, prioritizing, and planning ahead. For example, I check schedules for important dates on theater and dance to make sure I have everything under control. Then I prioritize what needs the most attention. For instance, if I have a recital for dance coming up I make sure that I am focusing on dance 80% and then the other 20% (my downtime) I center for theater related things like, reading my script, practicing my songs, etc. Then once show time approaches for theater it’s vice versa. Overall it’s difficult to manage time, but I find ways to fit both theater and dance into my schedule.” -Freshman Reagan Coleman
