The Rockbridge County football team closed out their season at William Monroe high school Friday, Nov. 3.
The Cats fell to the dragons of William Monroe with a score of 6-42. They did not finish the season with as many victories as they had hoped for, so the Wildcat football team is looking past this year and forward to the future of the program.
Junior running back Gabriel Wade scored the Wildcat’s only touchdown of the evening. He praised his team for their refusal to give up.
“Even though we did not have the greatest outcome,” said Wade, “everyone on the team gave 100% and no one stopped until the final whistle blew. The touchdown on Friday was a team effort, not just a one man job.”
The Wildcats concluded their season with an 0-10 record, but are determined to improve in the coming seasons. There is no way to go but up for the Wildcats, and with their strength and will-power, the Rockbridge community is excited to see them rise in future seasons.
