Judith Hensley is a new Math teacher at RCHS, teaching Algebra 1 and AFDA. [Before joining the Wildcats, Hensley has moved around quite a bit.]
Hensley was raised in Maine until the age of 10 then she moved to Covington, Virginia. She went to Dabney for two years and then transferred to Concord University in West Virginia.
She has an extensive background in education teaching multiple grades before moving to Rockbridge to teach.
“I’ve been teaching for 13 years. I taught one year at middle school, and then 12 years at high school, and then in 2020 when Covid hit, I got my master’s degree at Radford University,” Hensley said.
Hensley then expresses why she chose Rockbridge.
“I just needed a change. I worked in the same school division in the Allegheny division for many years, and I just needed something different,” Hensley said.
She also states how her living in different places affected her choice.
“I also lived in Botetourt County, so I kind of lived in the middle of a bunch of different areas, and I was just looking for a different experience. So here.” Hensley said.
In Hensley’s free time she enjoys cooking good food, traveling, visiting new places, and hanging out with her family. She has chickens and a passion for gardening.
Hensley teaches in Room 219. Stop by to see her or if you have any math related questions!
