As the fourth quarter comes around the corner, anticipation builds, especially for the seniors. Senior year is a once in a lifetime experience which turns the page on childhood. With that being said, a majority of seniors wish to make their mark or leave lasting memories.
Enter a Senior Bucket List. Bucket lists are great for making sure everything gets done before a certain time. For seniors, it’s a perfect way to check off goals before they walk across the stage.
Senior Elsa Kerin-Rice made a list to encapsulate her senior year.
“I wanted to create a bucket list for senior year with some of my friends just to kind of make senior year a little bit more fun and exciting,” Kerin-Rice said.
Fellow senior Thomas Jones had a similar reason for creating his list.
“To give myself goals to look forward to for my senior year,” Jones said.
With all this about why lists get created, let’s dive into what’s on it. Commonly bucket lists include adventures, life goals, experiences with friends and a senior bucket list is no different.
Kerin-Rice gives us a look at what’s on her list.

“We want to go for a thrifting trip and like a big bonfire. Then we also want to do a charcuterie night with a slideshow theme,” Kerin-Rice said.
Crafts and fun activities are great ways to have a lasting memory and something the person can carry with them forever.
Jones had different tasks on his list that were more self-focused
“I want to expand by landscaping work this summer. [I]want to go hiking and fishing more, I want to jump off the footbridge, go on a guys trip, start working out again. A lot more outdoors stuff,” Jones said.
About 47.1% of seniors created a bucket list to accomplish this year, meanwhile 52.9% did not. Although most did not create a list, 62% of students who did have already accomplished tasks on their list.

Senior Maddie Lipscomb shares when she hopes to finish her list.
“I plan to finish when I graduate. I believe I’ve done more this year than the past 3 years,” Lispscomb said.
Her list includes ways she is going to accomplish things.
“My bucket list just included being more attentive in after school activities and events,” Lipscomb said.
Senior year is considered “the year of last,” but for some, it doesn’t have to be. Seniors use this year to try new things and branch out making it a year of first. Ranging from, homecoming decorating, going to concerts, to being a firefighter, there’s no telling what these seniors will accomplish.
