When it comes to decision making, selecting what you want at a gas station is as hard as it gets. There are unlimited options and combos; however, we reviewed some students’ orders.
In our process of reviewing, we thought about the individual food or beverage itself, but also the combination of other food or drink with it.
The first order was from junior Brayden Camden. Camden is starter for the varsity boys basketball team and says he loves to get snacks after games. His order contained Nerd Gummy Cluster, and apple juice. He also said if he needs chips then he would go with Barbeque Lays Chips. “If I am feeling chips then I would probably say BBQ lays chips.” Camden said.
All of these items were very good. The NERDS Gummy Clusters are always a great option but the combination of barbeque chips and apple juice did not mix very well together. Because of those reasons, we rated that as a 6.8 out of 10.
The second order was from junior Anna Nye. Nye is a starter for the varsity lacrosse player and recently committed to James Madison University. When she needs a quick snack, she prefers to stop at a gas station. She decided to go with 2 drinks, chocolate milk and a Mango flavored Naked drink. Nye also went with Goldfish as the snack. Again, all of these items are solid options but not quite the right combination.
For example, Goldfish is one of the most consistent options you can get. It may not be the best option but will always taste good no matter the scenario. I think this order was unique but missing something sweet. This order came in at 5.5 out of 10.
The next order was from sophomore Davis Welsh, who recently came off a dist

rict win in Wrestling. He enjoys stopping at gas stations after practice or before bus rides to matches.
Welsh’s Order was very all around consisting of Chex Mix Bold Party Blend, gummy bears and an orange mango Body Armor. Welsh said that the bold party blend was the best flavor, “I would chex mix but the bold flavor because they have a good kick.” Chex Mix bold party blend is a great option because of the mix of items that are in the bag and the strong flavor. Gummy bears are a great candy option because of the chewy texture and different flavors. Body armor is a great option for electrolytes, taste and overall health, wrapping up the order with a great rating of a 8.7 out of 10
The next order was another strong order from Marshall Clements. Clements is on the Junior Varsity basketball team and likes to grab snacks before games. Clements chose the spicy sweet chili Doritos, gummy bears and finished it out with a sweet tea.
Clements had great choice, the Doritos are arguably a top flavor, and gummy bears are a classic. Although neither of us are big fans of sweet tea, it was still a decent combo overall. We agreed on a good rating of 8.6 out of ten, not better than Welsh’s but still very solid. If sweet tea is your drink, then this order will be the one for you.
Last but not least, we had senior Natalie Samante. Samante is a starter for the varsity girls basketball team and likes to stop by gas stations before bus rides. She went with a peach-mango Bloom energy drink and honey barbeque Fritos and lastly a pack of normal Skittles. The Honey Barbeque Fritos were a great option and same with the pack of skittles. “I like the peach mango flavored bloom energy drink and skittles, then if I had to get chips, I’d get bbq Fritos”. Samante said. However, the energy drink was not the strongest of choices and for that reason we gave a solid 8.2 out of 10.
Overall the best order was Welsh’s. He came in with a great rating of 8.7. Hopefully this makes picking what to eat at a gas station a little easier.
