As we enter the Spring season, flowers are blooming, birds are chirping, and the sun is shining. Giving you the perfect opportunity to sit outside on a blanket, with a good book.
Reading helps relax the soul and put your mind at ease. This is exactly why I’ve compiled a list of the best Spring Rom-Com books to read.
“Better Than the Movies” is a perfect book to start off your Spring reading. Written by Lynn Painter, it centers around Liz Buxbaum and her childhood enemy, Wes Bennet. Liz requests the help of Wes to win over her long-time crush Micheal. However, instead of falling for Micheal, Liz and Wes fall in love. “Better Than the Movies” also has a sequel, “Nothing Like the Movies.”. This book is definitely a slow-burn romance, but one of my favorite enemies-to-lovers books. It’s definitely worth checking out this spring.
The next book is “Picking Daisies on Sundays.” Written by Liana Cincotti, the story is about Daniella “Daisy” Maria and Levi, who are childhood best friends. Daisy confesses her love for him, but Levi friends-zones her. Four years later they meet again and Levi asks Daisy if she’ll fake date him for his sister’s wedding. Levi just planned to make his ex jealous, but instead he falls for Daisy. This book is the best mix of first love and second chances.
“Betting On You” is another perfect spring book, written by Lynn Painter. The story follows Bailey and her opposite Charlie. They work at a water park together and make a bet about how boys and girls can’t be just friends. They end up proving their own bet wrong, when they fall for each other. This book is an amazing mix of both grumpy-sunshine and fake dating tropes. Perfect for your spring picnic.
Next is “Book Lovers,” written by Emily Henry. The story centers around Nora Stephens, a literary agent in New York. Her sister convinces her to take a vacation in Sunshine Falls, North Carolina. Nora reluctantly decides to go to take a break from work. There she meets Charlie, a rivaling editor, who is with his family on vacation. They decide to work on a book together for one of Nora’s clients. While working, Charlie encourages her to pursue her passion for editing. They fall in love while working together and decide to pursue a long distance relationship. This book is a mix of enemies to lovers and slow burn romance.
The final book is “Love and Gelato.” The story is about a girl named Lina, who spends the summer in Tuscany with her dad, Howard, after her mom’s death. She finds her mom’s old diary and discovers Howard isn’t her actual dad. On a quest to find her real dad, she meets Ren. He offers to show her the city and help find him. They end up falling in love and Lina decides to stay in Italy. “Love and Gelato” has also been made into a Netflix movie. Personally, the movie is horrible compared to the book, it adds a random love triangle and doesn’t do the book justice.
If you like this book, you should definitely check out the other ones in the “Love & Series”.
Even though “Love and Gelato” and “Book Lovers” take place in the summer. The anticipation of summer in spring, make these books great rom-coms that you should definitely check.
If you find yourself in a bookstore this spring, you should definitely consider checking out these books. Whether you like, enemies to lovers, slowburn romance, first love, or second chances. There is a rom-com book for you.
