On Thursday, March 5, the Rockbridge County Wildcats boys soccer played the Amherst Lancers at Amherst High School in their first scrimmage of the season.
Senior Noah Alexander helped out the Wildcats. Alexander plays center midfield.
“I’m really proud of how hard we played for our first scrimmage of the season; we never gave up on the game. Collectively, we played well and always had each other’s backs. We still have a lot to work on, but we were able to start playing more cohesively and apply a lot of what we have worked on in practice,” Alexander said.
The Wildcats fell to the Lancers 2-4, with goals from juniors Cooper Fox and Jonathan Roy.
The Wildcats play again on Tuesday, March 10, in a scrimmage against the Heritage Pioneers at home.
