On Thursday, March 5, Rockbridge boys soccer faced off against Amherst in their first scrimmage of the year, losing 2-4.
One goal was scored by junior Jonathan Roy, a varsity captain. Roy talks about how he feels this season.
“I’m super excited for this season. I’ve played for Rockbridge for three years, coming into my fourth year. I’ve been on varsity for about two years,” Roy said.
He continued, discussing what he’s looking forward to this season
“For this season, I’m mostly excited to play in a new competition. I think we have a solid team with some solid players, and we have a chance to have a great season. Another thing I’m excited about is that this year we have coach Jeff for the whole season,” Roy said. “He came in halfway through last season, kind of picking up what was left, and to be able to see him build the team and also be able to help him is fun.”
The team’s first regular-season game is on Tuesday, March 10, against Heritage.
