The Christmas season is rapidly approaching, which means that Christmas music will be all over radios and will bring the festive spirit to people across the globe.
Christmas music is appealing to people because it gives them feelings of nostalgia, it can reduce stress, and it makes people ecstatic.
At number ten for my top ten ranking of Christmas music is “Sleigh Ride” by the Ronnettes, it has a recognizable, and nostalgic feeling to it, but it’s overplayed and can get annoying to listen to after a while of listening to it.
At number nine for my top ten ranking of Christmas music is “Silver Bells” by Dean Martin, this song conveys a slow, melodic feeling that calms down most people who listen to it, but it sounds generic and isn’t unique compared to other Christmas songs.
At number eight for my top ten ranking of Christmas music is “All I want for Christmas is You” by Mariah Carey, although this song can get annoying real fast because of how overplayed it is, it is unique compared to other Christmas songs because it gives a more energetic vibe than other Christmas songs.
At number seven for my top ten ranking of Christmas music is “Feliz Navidad” by José Feliciano. This song is great because it has a very upbeat feeling to it and it uses both Spanish and English in the song, making it unique. But this song is very repetitive, which can bring the song down a bit.
At number six for my top ten ranking of Christmas music is “Here Comes Santa Claus” by Bob Dylan. This song is fast paced, but at the same time it’s calming and gives a sense of nostalgia. But, just like number seven, it’s extremely repetitive.
At number five for my top ten ranking of Christmas music is “Jingle Bell Rock” by Bobby Helms. This song gives an energetic and upbeat feeling to it and brings excitement to listeners.
At number four for my top ten ranking of Christmas music is “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree” by Brenda Lee. This song also gives an energetic and upbeat feeling to it, but it’s repetitive.
At number three for my top ten Christmas songs is “Little Drummer Boy” by Johnny Cash. This song is energetic and brings excitement for the Christmas season. This song’s use of drums makes it unique because not many Christmas songs use drums. This song was originally called Carol of the Drums when it was made by Katherine Kennicott Davis in 1941.
At number two for my top ten Christmas songs is “Blue Christmas” by Elvis Presley. This song depicts feelings of melancholy during the Holiday season, but at the same time, depicting feelings of nostalgia.
And finally, at number one for my top ten Christmas songs is “Carol of the Bells” by Mykola Leontovych. This song is unique because it uses a chorus, which adds on to the energetic feeling of the holiday season.
These ten songs don’t fail to disappoint when it comes to putting people in the Christmas spirit.
