The 68th Annual Grammys were held on Feb. 1 in Los Angeles, California. Major awards like Album of the Year, Song of the Year, and Best New Artist were handed out, and performances from big stars filled the evening.
The Album of the Year was a competitive category this year, with the nominations; “Chromakopia” by Tyler the Creator, “Man’s Best Friend” by Sabrina Carpenter, “Let God Sort Em Out” by Clipse, “DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS” by Bad Bunny, “SWAG” by Justin Bieber, “Mayhem” by Lady Gaga, “GNX” by Kendrick Lamar, and “Mutt” by Leon Thomas III. Bad Bunny’s album “DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS” won the award, becoming the first Latin artist to win this prize. Bad Bunny gave an emotional acceptance speech for this monumental award.
Record of the Year acknowledges the artists, producers, and engineers for the production and performance of a recording. Many popular artists were nominated for Record of the Year, including Lady Gaga, Bruno Mars, Chappell Roan, and Billie Eilish, but Kendrick Lamar and SZA came out on top with their song “Luther.” This record spent 12 consecutive weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, and it has over 577 million Spotify streams.
Song of the Year nominations included “Abracadabra” by Lady Gaga, “Manchild” by Sabrina Carpenter, “Apt.” by Bruno Mars & Rosé, and “Anxiety” by Doechii. Song of the Year acknowledges the songwriters for the composition and lyrics of a song. Billie Eilish and Finneas won the award with their song “Wildflower.” This was a shocking win, as this track originally came out in early 2024, before the period in which the 2026 Grammys were considering songs (August 2024-August 2025). The track was released as a single during this period, but many viewers were surprised that “Wildflower” beat out some incredibly popular songs.
Olivia Dean received the award for Best New Artist. Dean had a fantastic 2025, with hits like “Man I Need” gaining immense popularity. The other nominees were Alex Warren, Sombr, Addison Rae, Katseye, The Marias, Leon Thomas, and Lola Young. This entire category performed a “Best New Artist Medley” together.
Other performances were done by Lady Gaga, Bruno Mars, Sabrina Carpenter, Justin Bieber, Tyler the Creator, Rosé, Lauryn Hill, and Post Malone.
Overall, the Grammys were highly competitive this year and many big wins filled the night.
