The 83rd Golden Globe Awards Ceremony took place on Jan. 11, and was located at the Beverly Hills Hotel in Beverly Hills California. The ceremony was filled with beautiful gowns, stunning hairstyles, and smiling faces. Despite a few not so funny jokes from the host Niki Glaser, the ceremony was beautiful and everyone there was very pleasant.
From a stunning return of Ariana Grande’s high pony to two of Hollywood’s new biggest stars, Conner Storrie and Hudson Williams, from the hit show “Heated Rivalry,” presenting an award, this banquet was a hit. Before the actual ceremony started, there was a Red Carpet. Columbia Broadcasting System(CBS) streamed both the Red Carpet and the Ceremony. The Red Carpet started around 6pm ET, 3pm PT, and the Golden Globes Ceremony started at 8pm ET, 5pm PT.
The gowns and suits at this event were more than just beautiful, they were absolutely astonishing. From a sleek white silk suit worn by Hudson Williams designed by Giorgio Armani to Jennifer Lawrence’s risquè but immaculate flower gown designed by Givenchy, the guests left us all star-stuck.
The best looks rated by the public were Kate Hudson in Armani, Teyana Taylro’s Schiaparelli gown, and Chase Infinity’s LV metallic creation. All of the looks were the perfect mix of glamorous gowns and chic suits.
After we got to see all of the breathtaking attire of the Globes, host and comedian, Niki Glaser, opened the show with an arguably controversial monologue. Though being known for her witty jokes and a bit of a savage take on comedy, some of the jokes she made were arguably taken a bit too far. Glaser took shots at famous actor, Leonardo Dicaprio, by bringing up his dating history of dating women much younger than him. Glaser’s exact quote was, “What a career you’ve had. I mean you’ve won three Golden Globes, an Oscar, and the most impressive thing is that you were able to accomplish all of that before your girlfriend turned 30.”
She also threw a hit at the streaming service the ceremony aired on, CBS, by stating “And the award for most editing goes to CBS News. Yes. CBS News, America’s newest place to to ‘SEE’ B.S. news.” She made small comments and jokes like this all night to keep the crowd going and laughing. Though she did get a laugh from most, lots of her jokes created controversy in the news afterwards. Take it how you want to.
