As the holiday season looms closer, shoppers become more and more anxious about what to purchase for their loved ones. Not knowing what to get your loved ones is one of the most stressful things about the holidays.
Shoppers are also having trouble trying to find a good time to go shopping in person, which explains the rise of shopping online. Instead of buying from big corporations online, shoppers should support local businesses.
This is exactly why we have compiled a list of local downtown Lexington stores that have the perfect gifts for your loved ones. We visited local stores downtown and put together a shopping guide for each store. Here is the first ever official Downtown Lexington Shopping Guide:
If you are trying to find the perfect gift for a kid, Just Games is the perfect place. They offer a wide variety of things including board games, card games, and puzzles. Whether your kid is in love with complex board games, or you’re hosting a party and simply need a game, Just Games is the perfect place to go. They also have sections throughout the store, so you know exactly where to look.
Pumpkin Seeds is one of the cutest boutiques in Downtown Lexington. Owned by local, Siobhan Deeds, the whole ambiance is just complete. It is a very girly shop and the perfect place to shop for your wife, girlfriend, or sister. From the cutest sweaters you’ve ever seen to chunky earrings perfect for any event, this shop has it all. The card section is an added bonus. They have a card for almost anything you can think of. It is my personal favorite shop in downtown Lexington and a great place to shop for a gift for a loved girl in your life.
Trying to find the perfect present for your special someone is always the hardest thing to do during the holiday season. If you have this problem, you should totally check out Hess & Co. Jewelers; they have hand crafted, beautiful works of art. Whether you need a dazzling necklace or a stunning bowtie Hess & Co. Jewelers has you covered. Located in an old bank, Hess & Co. jewelers offer necklaces, earrings, bracelets, and even watches for your loved ones.
If you are trying to find the best gift for a wilderness lover, Walkabout Outfitters is the place to go. From hammocks to hiking socks, they have it all. They have name brand items like HydroFlask and Patagonia, so it makes it easier to buy those things in person instead of waiting for them to arrive after ordering them online. The shop is my brother’s absolute favorite place to go downtown. It is a great place to shop for your dad, grandpa, brother, or anyone who adores nature.
Sugar Maple is one of the cutest stores you will ever walk into. They offer seasonal gifts and trinkets perfect for any fun holiday party or a loved one. The store is piled high with glass pieces, plants, seasonal items, and of course, candy. They have towels perfect for your grandma or mother, including one amazing avocado towel that says, “I know the guac is EXTRA, but so am I!”= overall a great vibe for holiday shopping!
The Shenandoah Attic is the best place to shop for an older loved one. They have all the goodies you would find in your grandma’s house. The Attic has lots of knick-knacks and fun decor perfect for your older relatives. Their whole vibe is very 1920’s-1930’s, adding to the grandma aura. The shop has spices, jellies, homemade fudge and truffles, and any little trinket you can think of. My personal favorite part is their Christmas section that stays up year round. As a Christmas lover, this section is perfect especially during the holiday season. I highly recommend stopping in and looking around!
Instead of shopping online this holiday season, go to Downtown Lexington and check out all of your local shops! They offer unique and special things that your loved ones will truly adore.
