Cookies, presents, stockings, family, what could be better than that? Absolutely nothing! Christmas is by far the best holiday of all. There are endless things to love about Christmas, but I will narrow it down to three things: the time leading up to Christmas, picking out gifts for people, and stockings. Although some people may disagree with my opinion, there is no doubt in my mind that Christmas is the best holiday.
Firstly, the holiday season is undeniably magical. It might be my favorite part about Christmas. My family always goes to a Christmas tree farm together and picks out the biggest tree that will fit in our house. After my mom spends some time obsessing over if the tree is crooked and trimming down the branches, we decorate while blasting Christmas music. Then, for the rest of the month of December you get to see the pretty Christmas tree lights and smell the pine. There are so many great Christmas movies to watch and so many baked goods to enjoy. The magic doesn’t just stop when you find out Santa isn’t real, despite what other people may say.
Secondly, picking out gifts for your loved ones is so underrated. Some people dread having to shop for others, but it is one of my favorite parts of the Christmas season. I start by making lists of things people like. Whether it’s their favorite animal, a hobby they enjoy, or something I have seen them snack on. I have a very good memory when it comes to gifts. I can remember something that someone mentioned once or something they have run out of recently. There is something so loving and special about picking out the perfect gift for someone.
Lastly, I believe that stockings are extremely underrated. While the larger gifts are exciting, there is something so special about the tiny gifts you receive in your stocking on Christmas day. My family always opens our stockings first, and then enjoys a small breakfast before turning on some music and moving on to the larger gifts. While some people might just want to skip to the big gifts, I think stockings are a great way to ease into the gift opening.
In conclusion, Christmas is undeniably the best holiday of all. Nothing compares to the magic that Christmas brings to so many families.
