Marybeth Sandridge is the new geography honors and sociology honors teacher this year, filling in for Sandra Hayslette who is on a year of leave. Sandridge was a history major at Mary Washington University, and worked in retail before getting her teaching license. Sandridge then went back to college at Mary Baldwin University to earn her license. Sandridge was recently a student teacher where she became familiar with the content.

“Luckily, I was able to fall right in, and be comfortable with these subjects,” said Sandridge.

Sandridge grew up in Rockbridge County and attended RCHS.

“I love how some things are different, but a lot of things have stayed the same. Some of my teachers that I had in high school are still here,” said Sandridge.

Sandridge hopes that her students find her courses interesting, and also hopes to encourage them to develop a love of learning.
