- Yummy food
Each week the pastries and bread loafs typically stay the same, but outside there are a variety of meals that could be served. Most days it is wood-fired pizza, but you can have a lowcountry boil, pork barbecue bowls, or chicken.
- Supports local farmers and small businesses high quality food grown in Virginia
All the meals served at Bread Day are farm to table, all eggs are grown on the Seasons Yield Farm or other local farm in Virginia. Some breads have been made with fresh milled flour from the farm, too.
- Beautiful mountainous scenery, the Shenandoah Valley
The farm, nestled inside the Shenandoah Valley, is an amazing environment to be in. The meadow with pigs, chickens, and horses, with a creek running through the whole farm, is such a beautiful landscape to hang out in and explore .
- Opportunity to meet new people; helps build a community
Customers travel from all over Virginia to enjoy Bread Days. Spending the day here is an amazing way to meet farmers, college students, families, and business owners in our community and beyond.
- Small businesses selling unique pieces
On vendor days, there are several small businesses that display their creations. There are a variety of products that are sold; from local grown flowers, honey, and maple syrup, to watercolor cards and jewelry. Supporting these small businesses is an amazing way to give back to your community.
- Farmers market and bakery in one
One of my favorite things about Bread Days is how unique the environment is. It’s a perfect setting for those who want a slow, cozy Saturday morning, and those who want to go take their kids somewhere to run around and play.
- Fun atmosphere
There are activities the farm offers year-round, including bonfires in the fall and winter, games in the spring, and local venders in the summer. You can choose your own adventure on Bread Day. You could place a mobile order, drop by to grab it, then return home, or you can stay, eat, and enjoy the farm. The scene is perfect for anyone and everyone!
- Whole family entertained
One of the aspects of Bread Days that I think attracts the largest variety of people is the fact that it can entertain anyone in the family. Large families come and let their kids run around in the field and play in the creek. Older groups can lay out a blanket and enjoy the scenery.
Bread Days are an excellent way to spend your Saturday! Come out to the next one on April 18th.
