Apple Pie Takes the Cake

Final results of RCHS’s favorite pie.

The holidays have begun! This means lots of baking in preparation for holiday gatherings. For some families cake, icecream, and cookies are a Holiday staple for others it’s pie. Pie is a staple piece for many household bakers. Pie has been baked since the 5th Century BC. However, since then lots has changed, including what is in the pie.

For some families it is the basic apple, or pumpkin, but pie flavors vary  from blueberry to chocolate to everything in between.

With all of these varieties, the question of which one is the best arose. RCHS students were polled to vote on  a spread of 10 pie flavors.

Coming in first place was apple pie, second place was pumpkin pie, and a close third place was chocolate pie.

The debate between students is extremely competitive. Some believe that the top three are completely wrong and some strongly agree with it.

Junior Luke Eversole voted key lime pie because it is a “superior pie.”

“Key lime pie is magical, when I taste it it brings me joy. My grandma especially makes the best key lime pie,”said Eversole.

Junior Rio Bucy looks forward to pies around the Holidays.

“My favorite kind of pie is the pumpkin pie my grandpa makes,” said Bucy.

Although there is truly no way to determine what kind of pie is the best, the students of RCHS vote apple as their favorite.
