Wildcats Pin the Competition

On Thursday, Dec. 1, 2022 the wildcats wrestling team took on the Fort Defiance Indians. The match marked the official start to the wildcats season. It also marked the first home wrestling match in three years.

The focal point of this match was on 4 individuals, Seniors: Brice Hall, Thomas Maxwell, Ezekiel Mohr and Zac Huntsman. Senior Brice Hall won his match with a pin. He had a takedown and a few back points then finished his opponent with a pin. Senior Thomas Maxwell lost his match 3-8 with three escapes. Senior Ezeikiel Mohr had a takedown which he later followed up with a pin. Senior Zac Huntsman won his match with a pin as well. He also had one escape. With a pin being 6 points these seniors contributed 18 points to their team.

The Wildcats toppled the Indians 43-27 in a successful season opener. As they look to continue the streak the Wildcats next match will be on Dec, 7, 2022 at Wilson Memorial High School.

Nicolas Vargas is a first year journalism student with little experience in the journalism field. You could say THE Nicolas Vargas is a noob. Nicolas Vargas was told that this class would be helping the school with “new paper” whatever that is. Maybe by the end of the year he will have figured out what that is. If not, the interweb should be able to help him. This probably makes one wonder if Nicolas Vargas has a life? Well yes, yes he does. Outside of school Nicolas Vargas is the average teenager: tired, lazy and boring… Kidding! Nicolas Vargas enjoys spending every minute of his life doing something. “Laying around” is not in his vocabulary. Nicolas Vargas enjoys playing sports of all varieties and doing almost all activities that involve the great outdoors. The only time he chooses to be in the great expanse of his own home is when he is playing Fifa (soccer video game). Where he claims to be the best in the house, the key word here is “claims”. He chooses not to surrender his dignity to his younger brother. By now you have probably figured out a little bit about who Nicolas Vargas is. If you are so fortunate as to run into him at one point in your life asking “how’s the new paper going?”, by then he should give you his autograph.
