Hi guys! My name is Hannah Ivins and this is the fourth installment of the Prowler’s Culture Corner. Today I’ll be recommending something to read, wear, eat, and listen to. Hope you enjoy it!
The first thing I recommend is a read. Fake Skating by Lynn Painter is my current favorite book. It’s like a classic 2000’s romcom, but in a book. It follows childhood friends Dani Collins and Alec Barczewski, who reunite in Minnesota for their senior year and feelings start to appear. It’s cute because they fake date, but both are in love with one another. It is a book that one could read over and over again and still enjoy.
The second thing is a wear and would be a classic jean skirt. Although simple, it’s perfect for any season and most any occasion. Paired with a cute top it can be worn going out. For something comfy, pair it with an off the shoulder crewneck. I wear my jean skirt all the time if I can’t think of an outfit. A jean skirt can be found almost anywhere and is perfect for anything.
A song I recommend listening to is Don’t Go Breaking My Heart by Elton John and Kiki Dee. Although it’s not new, it’s a song I found after watching Ella Enchanted (2004) by Tommy O’Haver and have loved it ever since. I highly recommend 70’s music; it just has an incomparable vibe that brightens moods. If you like this song, search for a 70’s playlist and there will be similar music.
A food I recommend is banana bread. It’s a simple yummy food. I am not a big banana or bread fan, but banana bread is delicious. You can even add toppings like chocolate chips, nuts, or other fruits. I like banana bread plain, but chocolate chips are second. It’s a fan favorite among 5th period study hall with Ms. Payne and justifiably so.
These are some of my favorite things and I hope you try and enjoy them too!
